Work plan
The JANUS project is organised into ten work packages across two reporting periods, spanning a total duration of 30 months, distrubuted along two reporting periods.
WP1
Project Management and Administration (RP1)
Overall project oversight, coordination, risk management, and administrative activities. Ensures timely reporting and compliance with SESAR JU requirements.
Leader: FTTS.
WP2
Project Management and Administration (RP2)
Continued project oversight, financial management, final reporting, and TRL assessment.
Leader: FTTS.
WP3
Quantum-related opportunities and threats in ATM/UTM
Systematic literature review and community engagement to catalogue optimisation problems, AI/ML applications, and cryptography needs in ATM and UTM.
Leader: FTTS.
WP4
Selection of quantum-amenable problems in ATM/UTM
Multi-criteria prioritisation of candidate problems using an effort-versus-impact matrix. Risk analysis of cryptography vulnerabilities caused by quantum computing.
Leader: ZenaByte.
WP5
Exploratory analysis of QC on ATM use-case (RP1)
Classical baseline modelling and benchmarking of selected use cases, establishing runtime, scalability and quality performance curves.
Leader: University of Deusto.
WP6
Exploratory analysis of QC on ATM use-case (RP2)
Reformulation of ATM problems in QC terms, concept of operations for a hybrid quantum-classical architecture, and benchmarking of quantum solutions.
Leader: University of Deusto.
WP7
Post-quantum cryptography roadmap
PQC migration strategy, EuroQCI feasibility assessment, and a long-term 2030–2045 enterprise architecture combining PQC and QKD.
Leader: FTTS.
WP8
Concept Validation
Validation planning (ERP) and execution (ERR) through workshops, scenario walkthroughs, and expert panels to assess operational acceptability and risks.
Leader: Deep Blue.
WP9
Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (RP1)
CDE planning, stakeholder workshops, one-on-one researcher interviews, website development, and advisory board establishment.
Leader: EuroUSC España.
WP10
Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (RP2)
Continued CDE activities, exploitation planning, final dissemination campaign, and project workshop.
Leader: EuroUSC España.
